Q. What is The Justice Run?
The 2nd annual Justice Run will take place on September 25th, 2011 at the Littleton Family YMCA in Littleton, CO with the goal of raising money and awareness for human trafficking and it’s victims. The event will include a free Kids’ Fun Run, as well as a 5-K & 10-K on the beautiful Highline Canal and Lee Gulch trails in Littleton. Both races are professionally timed. Post-race kids activities, food & beverage, raffle, & awards. All runners will receive a t-shirt, goody-bag, post-race meal, and raffle entry.
100% of race registrations and donations from the Justice Run will go to The Justice Project a branch of the non profit organization,The World Outreach Center. Their desire is to see a complete effort developed in their region to combat Human trafficking. In addition to seeking out women being held against their will in the Red Light District, they desire to build “The Cloverleaf Center,” a place of restoration near the Black Forest of Southern Germany, where victims can receive counseling, medical care and assistance with reintegration into society .
Q. What can I do to stop human trafficking?
Register for the 5K Walk/Run or the 10K Run, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
Bring your used sneakers to packet pick-up or on race morning and place them in the Global Transitions Bins. All the money raised from the shoe recycling effort will go toward the aftercare of a trafficking victim in Cambodia named Phalla.
